Copyright is the legally granted rights regarding the use and copying of information, ideas, works of art and products created by a person or persons through all kinds of intellectual labor. The symbol © is expressed as a "C" surrounded by a circle. This right is a monopoly right that allows the creator to own and use a work. For example, in Türkiye, copyright protection is valid for the lifetime of the author and 70 years after his death. This period may vary from country to country.
Copyright owner means the owner of the financial and moral rights of a work. Financial rights; While the right to process is the right to reproduce, disseminate, represent, transmit to the public by means of sign, sound and/or image transmission, the right to share and follow up, moral rights are the right to present/disseminate to the public, to state the name and to prohibit making changes to the work.
Registration is not required to have copyright protection, but registration is very useful to prove the right and prove possible violations. In addition, copyright is closely related to industrial property rights. For example; When an attempt is made to register a sign that is copyrighted by someone else as a trademark, the trademark application is rejected upon the objection of the copyright owner.
